Adriaan was wondering what this mystery car he spotted in South Africa was… I’m 99% sure that what he’s stumbled on is a rare version of the Amante GT, which was sometimes made with these lights and features. The Amante was first manufactured in 1969 under the name “Gazelle”, fit to a VW pan and front and rear glass from a Rambler Marlin.

A variety of styles of Amante GTs exist, with options including different headlight configurations, different three-quarter panel styles (windows, a small window and a scoop, or a large scoop), as well as different front and rear decks (smooth, twin depressed scoops, or a single raised scoop), as well as a rear spoiler. The car was made by a variety of companies (Hebina Plastics, Voegele Industries, Performance Designers, and Amante Cars), and went out of production in the mid/late seventeis. The variation that Adriaan found is one of the less common ones so it wasn’t quick to recognize.

Anyone have any idea what this little kit car, built on a shortened VW chassis and reminiscent of hybrid designs like the Shala-Vet, could be? It was found in Quebec as far as I know — it may even be the one posted in the snow last year… People suggested Scorpion GT, Manic GT, but neither of those seemed right.

Robert, who has the Rotary Riot in the entry below, took these photos of a dual-engine one-off special at the 7Stock car show. As far as he knows it’s on a 914 chassis, with two side-by-side 13B rotary engines connected to a single gearbox, with the ability to run in either single or two engine mode. Anyone that knows more about this car, please write me or post in the forum.

A friend of Josh’s spotted this car in a parking lot recently and sent him the pictures to ID. They’re pretty sure it’s a Ferrari 275-inspired kitcar, but weren’t really sure what. Part of me thinks that it’s an Italia, a kit that turns the Mazda Miata into something more red (more on the Italia), but I’m not sure if my guess is right because elements of the car like the hood design are different…

When Isabelle and her husband first saw this buried in the snow in a backyard, they thought it might be a Vokaro because parts of the rear are similar, but the front is far too angular… Anyone recognize it? It looks like so many cars, but I can’t pin it down to just one.

Éric found this Excalibur-esque VW-based neoclassic up in Quebec, Canada, and is thinking about picking it up, but was hoping a reader might know more about it. Anyone recognize the design? I’m not very good with neoclassics.

According to Tai who sends this in, it’s not an Avenger or other FiberFab car, and he’s been trying to find out if anyone knows what this GT-40-styled kit from the UK is and who made it… Does anyone know?
