I admit that at a corpulent 6′2″ and 240 pounds this car was too small for me, but this Lancia Stratos kit that sold back in ‘97 or so here in Toronto was one of the sweetest cars I’ve ever seen, and I think it sold for a fraction of it’s true value (it went for not much over $20k USD). It weighs just 1650 lbs (under 750kg), is built on a custom tube chassis with a Ferrari V8 out of a 308 (about 255hp), a combination fiberglass and aluminum body just like the original, Esparo seats, Brembo brakes and wishbone suspension, 5-point harnesses and ready for both racing and street legal use across North America.
Other owners and apraisers set the value at nearly double what it sold for… but welcome to the curse of having to liquidate a high-end kit car!
