Paul’s friend Robert picked up this super-rare Banshee (aka Caribee) and is looking to get in touch with other others and fans. He’s currently restoring this wonderful and under appreciated gullwing exotic, so hopefully I’ll post more on the project as it progresses.

These cars are spectacular, an obvious homage to the Ferrari 275GTB, while still being very pretty in its own way. I think this is the most visually successful of all the Fiberfab designs- flawless from every angle but the rear. A little chrome bumper would totally fix that, too. Pity so few were made. Its really nice to see another one.

The quirky thing about them is: man, those doors look small…

What are the side windows? They seem to be the same as the side windows on the gullwing Aztec II in production about the same time. They are functional and nice. Are they a FiberFab in-house thing or taken from a donor?

I see the styling hint of the Ferrari 275GTB but to me it always looked more like the Cobra Daytona coupe,

Robert said he is like 5 foot 7 and slim build and it’s hard for him to get in the little door hole,

The windows are sliding plastic like the Aztec GT, my guess just flat cut plexi,

Another guess would be the little door hole and the late 60’s early 70’s obsession with GT40 looking cars IE Avenger / Valkyrie is what killed the Banshee that took far more to build in a time that people just wanted to slap a silly looking fiberglass body on a tired VW pan and go cruise.

I just picked up a Banshee about a month ago. Needs a lot of work. No floor or firewall or rear window, but has a nice body. I need to find a chassis for it. Can`t wait to start working on it, just no time. Also have an Avenger GT-12 I need to finish. Going to put a ZF transaxle in it with Pantera suspension and a 400 ci Chevy. I built a Manta Montage with this same set up that was a lot of fun to drive. I`m sorry I sold it.

Rodger I would much like to talk with you in email or over the phone,
    Many thanks!
