Robert and Bats both wrote in asking what ever happened to the Corbett Patriot, a Wraith-like car built by Adrian Corbett, who’d previously sold a somewhat questionable copy of the Countach for the VW Beetle. The Patriot was a radical rebody for the Fiero that sold for $16,995. The question I have, is this another wild car that never made it past the prototype stage? Or are there a few of these rotting away in barns, waiting for restoration?

The Maserati Birdcage concept. Look at how it opens great minds think alike? Or maybe they remembered the Patriot either way the flip open canopy has a lot of style. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFXR40N18Qk

Very cool video with the campy script,
The only angle I didnt like on the Patriot was the vertical rear window, flat rear deck with the sails, didnt flow with the front and sides to me,
17K was pricey at the time and their Lambo if it’s the one I am thinking was sick so I doubt it built faith in the company,
I sure do seem to recall at least one raw white body of one of these being sold many years back,
My guess, the company poured a pile into getting this car to look sweet and for what ever reason they didnt sell,
It would have been a hard one to get this sweet.

  3. Oh, I just realized I’ve posted one of their lambos in the past — CMC lambo

I wonder if any of the little VW based Lambos are running around,
It would be hard for me to warm up to it, but would love to see one in person, I guess I am a lambo snob, I dont even dig the ones built on a streched Fiero, hell, if you are going to do all that work anyway why not do a custom frame made for the project?

  5. My biggest “pet peeve” when it comes to the Countach replicas is flat glass windshields… Looks so cheap!
