I just noticed a pair of Craigslist ads (797045564 and 797033066; Jhonpaul @ 360-801-3722) in Seattle advertising a pair of classic Elite Enterprises kit cars. First up they’ve got the more common Laser 917, built on a VW pan with a Buick V6 powering it. Asking price is $5,000.

More interestingly, they also have a Mini 18 (aka Mini Max), something you almost never see for sale. He’s asking $3,800 for this ultra-rare kit car. Both cars are running but could use work, with the Mini 18 needing more work.

There isn’t too much info on these babies, I would guess they only made a handful and of that maybe 5-10 are alive in the world, less that that running driving.
I guess they were Elites answer to the face lift a VW trend there was another mini big rig looking one I cant think of the name and the Vandetta was another one something like this
You might try posting it on the laser forum,
    http://www.laser917.net
and thesamba.net in addition to here to sell it.
When the price is good it is popular.

About a year or so back a car broker fellow bought a sweet show condition one of these,
He thought it was gonna be worth a pile and ran it thru Fleabay several times,
no bids, lots of cheesy low ball offers
I turned him on to all the sites like this one and last I heard he let to go for between 5 and 6 K
Seems the key to getting top dollar from any of these old kit cars is making them look sweet and run and drive great,
So just because it’s rare doesnt mean you really have to stop driving it, with gas prices what they are VW engines are great these days.
Cars expecially VW’s tend to go bad just sitting.
