Up for sale right now in Payson, Arizona, is John’s Kellison GT-40K, one of the rarest and most authentic GT-40 inspired kit cars made in the late sixties. This one sits — 4′3″ — on a ‘68 VW Beetle pan, and for a forty year old car it looks pretty good. Everything seems to work and the car runs, but one of the 4-to-5 lug wheel adapters broke so that’ll have to be fixed before it’s driven, and minor touches will need to be done including windshield wipers, speedometer cable, and minor wiring. It’s on eBay right now (#290250477431) and you can also email John at johnfkrause@yahoo.com — he’s asking $7,000.

A stunning looking car and it’s a Kellison too!! You don’t see many of those built to this high of a standard. Unfortunately for me, it’s way under powered with a VW engine. Even a Corvair would be an improvement.
Could always go Hayabusa… I’ve been talking to Mike Downs about putting a Hayabusa into my Sterling using his company’s geardrive unit — http://www.downsengineering.co.....npage.html
Who has the car now? I think this one is perfect.
I spoke to the thrilled new owner on the phone he is in love with the car,
To be honest the body and interior being so beautiful makes you not notice so much the little bug engine and swing axle rear end,
The owner tells me he is enjoying it as is for now loving the great gas mileage but plans to go mid engine V8 with it someday,
That was my plan, I picked up two Kellison Gt40k bodies both basket cases ( one will be sold )
I plan to drop one body on my Mid engineering chassis,
So if you really dig this early GT40 style car I have an extra body that will be for sale hit me up if you want to talk,
