This very dusty Ferrari F40 replica on a Fiero chassis is currently in Dubai, originally imported from the United States. A potential buyer was asking me if I had any idea who the original manufacturer was… From these photos, can anyone tell?

ABOUT 16 YEARS AGO I WAS WORKING FOR THE SOUTH WALES AGENTS FOR EAGLE CARS. AT THE TIME EAGLE CARS HAD JUST FINISHED AN F40 REPLICAR FOR A FRENCH GENTLEMAN, MAURICE STAINS, HOPE THIS IS THE RIGHT SPELLING. I’M SURE THE MOULDS WERE TAKEN OFF A REAL ONE THAT HE OWNED AND THEN PUT ON TO A FIERO. WE WENT TO A FEW SHOWS AROUND UK WITH IT AND IT WAS SPOT ON, BUT WAS STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS, WITH SOME MINOR PANELS NEEDING BUILDING AND FITTING TO FILL IN WHERE KIT WAS SO WIDE FROM ORIGINAL CAR. MAURICE ALSO HAD A DIABLO AND THERE WAS TALK OF COPYING THAT, BUT I’M SURE IT NEVER HAPPENED. AS FAR AS I CAN REMEMBER, EAGLE WHERE MAKING BODYS FOR MAURICE TO SELL UNDER HIS OWN CONPANY NAME, WHICH UNFORTIONATLY I CAN NOT REMEMBER. I DON’T THINK ANY OTHERS WERE MADE OR SOLD BY EAGLE AFTER THE FIRST ONE. AT THE TIME THERE WAS TALK OF FERRARI NOT BEING VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT, SOMEBODY MAY KNOW DIFFERANT BUT I’M SURE THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST F40 REPLICAR. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED I WILL ASK THE EX OWNER OF THE BUSSINESS AND SEE IF HE HAS ANY PICTURES OF IT, OR MAY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MOULDS.
