Those of you who read my personal blog may have seen the Cruzin’ Cooler video I posted while at Carlisle ‘06. I thought it only fair to share some pictures of the hard work that Dallas has put into converting his Opel GT into a roadster. He writes,
"My car is a 1970 Opel GT and it was never produced in a roadster. It is all custom done. It is a great car and many people think it is a kit. It is in fact just a one of a kind hand made conversion. I did most of the work myself. It has had the top cut off, over size wheels(16in front and 17in rear), Corvette style side pipes, all custom interior made with marine vinyl incase it gets wet, CD with 6 speakers and amp, an onboard airtank and compressor that pumps up the air shocks. It has many other additions too, but that is the short story about my car."

Dallas- Your Opel GT is by far the nicest I’ve seen anywhere on the net! I just purchased a ‘69 GT on Ebay and was wondering if you used wheel adaptors to convert to a 5 bolt pattern or if you are using a custom rear axle, spindles & rotors etc. What engine & drivetrain are you running? There is no kit or plans… It was just done.
The 4 hole pattern was welded and a 5 hole pattern drilled out. I have American Racing tourque thrust II wheels. dallas@bestnetautosales.com

hey i was just wondering how much did you pay to get your corvette style side pipes done… they look great… I also have a 70 opel that i’m trying to fix up and was wondering if you can give me some good tips…. hope to hear from you soon…

What kind of car did you convert it to. I have a ‘73 and I’m having trouble getting the breaks and headlight cable. Do you have any good ideas?
I wouldn’t go as far to say you did most of the work, as I remember building that car years ago and selling it to you. Don’t forget who did what
