A trip to the beach in my Aztec 7
I’m headed off to New York City tomorrow until Friday (I’ll try and post while I’m on the road, but it may be a little slow), where among many other old friends, I’ll see the person who took the photos today from a wonderful day where we drove my “brand new” Aztec 7, the first kit I ever got on the road. It was also the car in which I learned to drive stick (on something other than a tractor or a stolen car that I didn’t really care about wrecking)…
On the way to the beach (Point Petre in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada), a Viper pulled up along side us and the owner sort of looked over wondering what the hell weird sort of car he was racing. We weren’t going that fast, but we slowly accellerated together until about 170 kph when he floored it and disappeared over the horizon pretty quickly. Some time on that trip I blew the engine as well and had to swap in the engine from my Laser 917.
Oh, speaking of travel and the Aztec 7, I’ve been thinking I should hit the Carlisle convention this year (later this month) to see more old friends and document the show. I have some shirts made that I was going to give out to people whose cars I like:

Personally, I think it looks great… :) Also, for what it’s worth, I spoke to the President of Fiberfab about the windshield issue. He left me information dealing with the windshield replacement, which I’ll post here:
FAQ’s:
1) Q: Where can I get a replacement windshield for an Aztec 7?
A: The windshield that fits in the car is a Lamborgini Muira. The cheapest price I have found so far is a company called Locan (1800-345-9595) that can get the Muira windshield for $1,412 (clear) and $1,553 (tinted). These prices were quoted in Nov. 2000 and may change. Don’t bother trying to call Guardian, the company that made the original windshields for Fiberfab. They no longer have the tooling (the pattern) for it and cannot make any more.

Another A7 owner called me to let me know about this place and said they have several in stock for about $1000.00. Of course, ask for a Lamborghini Muira windshield.
I’ve also got an idea for a 3-segmented windshield that does not protrude over the hood and will still allow you to use the windshield wiper. I’m working with a local Glass Company now to see what we can produce. More information later as it develops. This replacement windshield would be about $220-300 as compared to $1k+ listed above and still be fully functional.

Slight correction, I was the person who sent this windshield info to Jim which was copied from my Aztec 7 website. I am not affiliated with Fiberfab (old or new) in any way. I just love their cars, and own an Aztec 7 myself.

The way you Countach-ed it with the scoops and wing is too cool, it now looks far less kitcar and far more one off show concept car,
I saw somewhere a 2 piece windshield design that looked great too,

There is a guy on aol, cheyenneranger@ao.com that put the picture of your car on his profile claiming it is his car. His name is James Jounos of Harveys Lake, Pa. He hangs out in a chat room called millionaires lounges. This guy has a habit of stealing pictures off the web and pawning them off as his own.. just thought I’d give you a heads up on this

LOL ok too funny. I see someone else is familiar with James G Jounos who stole the pictures off this site and displayed them on his cheyenneranger@aol.com profile, claiming it was his car. Goes right along with the pictures he pilfered off horse breeder sites claiming the horses were his. Along with the boats, planes, etc he displays. He is from Wilkes Barre Pa but claims to be a rich rancher from Wyoming… No such ranch exists that he claims to own. Hes a fake through and through
